- Contrary to popular belief, the capes in his inventory are not for himself, but for his loyal familiar instead - Regent's favouritism can be seen by his showering of gifts on the being in question; like bringing them trinkets, apparel or even the first choice of prey in some cases. - While his colouration helps him blend in in most domains with ease, Regent stands out like a sore claw in the snowy landscape. Despite this fact, the Bogsneak has honed his hunting skills to the point where he can easily hide in plain sight |

As a young Bogsneak, Regent had always felt out of place with his odd colouration and chose to leave his first clan - finding peace in solitude. His quick temper and hasty nature scared others away, and his grim looks did not help matters. Feeling that the Southern Icefield was unsuited for him, Regent decided to leave in search for his calling. So, the Bogsneak left the Icewarden's domain by his lonesome. Occasionally, he would find company with other travellers and wanderers, learning survival skills and how to hunt. Sometimes, he would listen to the tales of passing adventurers by the fireside - ones that promised fame, fortune and glory. For a short while, Regent played the role of an adventurer, but it was not to his liking, so the dragon chose another path. Once, he travelled to Starfall Isles. Unknowing of its dangers, he soon fell ill after prolonged exposure to the chalcedony that formed the Crystalspine Reaches. Fortunately, he was taken in by an Arcane clan and nursed back to health. Out of gratitude, Regent chose to hunt for them, and was taught the basics of rune magics and wards. Life there was peaceful - for everyone there was nonjudgmental, insightful, and for a while, he was content. Being able to interact and help another of his kin instead of squabbling over precious resources was a nice change in pace too. Still, this lifestyle was not for one such as he, so Regent chose to leave in the end. After several long discussions with the clan's Guardian, the Bogsneak came to an understanding. Enlightened, the young hunter left the Starfall Isles, boasting a new wealth of knowledge in his mind. Regent arrived to the Plaguebringer's domain soon after, with the goal of using this tough environment as a way to strengthen his mind and body. One day, as he hunted in the Scarred Wastelands, the Bogsneak discovered that he had a stalker of sorts - a Dappled Dunhoof that chose to follow him. At first, he shied away from her, and when evasion did not work, the hunter attempted to frighten her away. Much to Regent's surprise, the centaur did not falter with her attempts of friendship - intriguing the young male. Charmed by her gentle demeanour and behaviour, Regent began interacting with her tentatively, slowly opening up to the other over time. Finding that they had similar interests at heart, the Bogsneak accepted her as his companion. Together, they hunted beasts of various sizes and shapes, of elusive monsters and even a shade-touched dragon once. Countless years passed, and Regent was a changed dragon. Experienced, patient and cunning - with all the signs of a perfect hunter, the dragon made the final decision to return back to his old home, his birthplace - the Southern Icefield. Now an adult, Regent has gained a deeper understanding of the world around him. His presence did not go unnoticed by the Icefield's denizens, and Regent found himself being pestered continuously by numerous hopefuls wanting him to join their lair shortly after his arrival. At first, the hunter was pleased, seeing as he was needed by others, but as time went on - what joy he felt quickly turned into irritation. Luckily, his ever faithful companion had found him a way out. Apparently, the Dunhoof had heard tale of a clan living within the Snowsquall Tundra - one that promised peace and quiet. Though he was wary of other dragons, Regent trusted his companion's judgement - so they travelled deeper into the Icewarden's domain till they reached the aforementioned lair. There, the hunter met the clan's herald and was allowed a audience with the leaders. What they discussed was kept within the walls of the clan's lair - but all parties emerged satisfied and Clan Feather Frost had gained a new hunter to their ranks. Still, he is not the most open dragon. Feeling that none other from his familiar and leaders understand him, Regent is only friendly towards said people - treating others with indifference many a time. Though he is starting to open up to the rest of his clanmates in the recent years, it is still a work in progress. He chose the secondary position to be a scout for his clan as he felt that it would kill two birds with one stone. A good hunter would make for an excellent scout, Regent claimed. None saw fit to argue with him, so he was assigned his second post with ease. Should he use his position to visit his old haunts outside the Icewarden's domain, his leader makes no fuss about it - knowing that the Bogsneak was a loner at heart. Despite what flaws he may have in other dragons' eyes, Regent knows that he will always have his familiar, his clan, his trustworthy leaders and the ability to return to a safe place after a long hunt. A home. |
