The skydancer Valenbriel is a patient, compassionate individual with a love of learning and the written word. A very determined young Val repeatedly pressed Kudakha with requests to learn from her, the arcane mage eventually relenting and taking her on as an apprentice. Sorta. Since then, she has aided Ku with her various studies, and helped young hatchlings learn how to read and write as a side job. She has always been somewhat mature for her age, and took to her role as "big sister" quite readily. When not out admiring the lava flows, she is usually off writing somewhere. Many of the lair's newest literary additions can be credited to Val, written in an elegant, flowing hand.

Val arrived at the same time as Icashali and the two have shared a very close friendship throughout the years. Nowadays it's not unusual to see them enjoying each other's company somewhere, Valenbriel giving a patient smile while Ica asks what she's up to and cuddles closer. She seems unsure of how to react to Ica's recent entanglement with the young male that resulted in an egg, and seems to get pensive when the topic is broached. Regardless, the young dragon that resulted has become an adopted daughter to her and she loves her very much.
