Astraeus

Astraeus is a very resourceful and ambitious dragon. From his hatching, he was raised surrounded by wealth. He lived comfortably well into his adolescence, until he realized why his family clan was so small and therefore so overflowing with resources. He was expected to leave his family the second he was old enough, and not be a waste of their time, food and treasure. It was a cold, stark reality check.

He learned the value of things very quickly after that. After a short time of being a regal-looking dragon at the bottom of the proverbial ladder, Astraeus decided to make a change. His Guardian instincts made him protect his resources fiercely and work towards growing his personal wealth. When he joined Ezill and Kahu's clan, he saw opportunity. Such healthy, well-maintained land and abundant plant life - all being nurtured and not cashed in on!

He approached the clan with a proposal. Astraeus would help the clan's wealth grow from pitiful to overflowing. They had berries, lumber, flowers, meat and even more valuable things that he could help them harvest and sell. And with the clan's knowledge on making minimal impact, they could collect their wealth without doing any damage to their beloved environment. The deal was struck, although with some reluctance on Ezill's part. Ezill is not sure he trusts the ambitious dragon who never seems to have a speck of dirt on his claws. And Astraeus secretly does not think highly of a dragon who would rather play with dirt than grow a solid financial future for his family. But they get along well enough to get the work done.

Astraeus has dodged the task of environmental stewardship for now, claiming that he is the caretaker of the hoard. Despite Ezill's fears, the gold-trimmed dragon is completely honest and would never cheat his clan. But he will not hesitate to eliminate any dead weight in his budget.
