She likes the smell, and the color of the needles remind her of Ragnar's eyes.
Ragnar found some while digging one day, and mistakenly took it for a piece o f discarded celadon pottery at first. He knew it was her favorite, and, in a rare moment of excitement, called out to her, as she was outside of the cave, sorting some of their finds. When they met up at the mouth of it, the sun hit the stone, he realized his mistake, and he hastily attempted to hide it behind his back. Almira, naturally, was having none of that, and eventually he relented to her kind, but firm, determination. She loved the find, and, despite his embarrassment, she insists to this day that it is one of her favorite gifts from him.
She hangs the glass shards in arrays which catch the light, and scatter it through certain areas of the lair. The effect is especially beautiful at sunrise and sunset.
