THE ARDENT NECROMANCER

Reese was found by the clan's scouts on a mission one day of late winter. They were wandering close to the Abiding Boneyard when they noticed a strange looking egg. The egg was rough with a thick hide over it, it showed no resemblance to any element. A dark set of armor was scattered on the ground nearby. The scouts pressed close to the egg and talked about if they should take it back to the lair. As they spoke, the brown and blue hatchling poked out of the thick shell. Reese let out a long yawn and looked directly at the armor on the ground. As she stepped from the remains of her egg, the armor flew into the air and merged together. Taken aback, the scouts prepared to fight the strange armor away from the hatchling. It never attacked. The scouts grabbed Reese and carried her back to the Gladeveins where the clan was awaiting their return. The armor followed them the entire way. It walked as if a dragon were still wearing it and waiting for its next battle. Reese was taken into the clan and as was the armor, reluctantly. The armor just lingered in areas though; they often forgot it was there until it moved. The armor would also never leave Reese's side. Within the first few days of Reese's time in the clan, her new clanmates notices peculiar things happening. One day, during supper, Reese was given a whole bird carcass for herself. Instead of eating it, she was only staring at it. The scholar, Rawiya, had been observing her tonight. Rawiya stepped up to the young one and offered to help her eat the bird, but as the tundra placed her hand on the bird, it began to breathe. Her hand lurched away and the young nocturne let out an ecstatic screech. The bird slowly, shakily, stood up and spread its wings. The armor sitting nearby seemed to chuckle. Reese was a growing necromancer first discovering her ability. Rawiya continued to observe the young and strange dragon. She suspects that there is presence of The Shade in the young one, but Reese is slowly proving herself to only be a powerful dragon wielding the true powers of Plague. |
