This was Susurro's element. To be in front of a dazzled crowd as he displayed his wonderful tricks and illusions. To feel the warm, glittering lights that made his outfit shimmer mysteriously when he moved. To have people hang on to his every word and motion while he smiled and fooled them with each stunt. To perform.

He smiled to himself as he thought of all his friends, unfailingly showing up to each and every performance. Of course, many others showed up too; he wouldn't be known as the Great Susurro if he wasn't good at what he did. But having his friends there made it special. True, they could probably quote his every catchphrase and reveal most of his simpler tricks (the more you watch the more you see), but they were always there to encourage him -- a precarious thing, as Susurro's ego was as well known as his show.

His grin broadened as the waiting crowd's applause greeted his ears. They were cheering for him! Ah, that feeling never got old. "Well," he remarked to himself, "time to put on a show." He stepped out onto the stage, beaming at the audience. "Good evening, ladies and gentlemen! Are you ready to experience magic?"
