Wind howled through Voyager’s young ears. Slowly creeping out of his egg, he could feel the cold air rush past him. He looked around, noting the feeling of being alone. Voyager felt the cold ground beneath his feet. There wasn’t a nest to keep him warm. He was abandoned, left here in the windy cave to die. He felt defeated, unwanted, and forgotten. ‘Why was I left here?’ he asked himself. Voyager tried to relax, tried to reason with himself. “Help me!” he cried in a quiet, meek voice.

Gently opening his eyes, Voyager noticed the light that seeped through caves large opening. Jumping up, he noticed he was warm and he felt content. “You don’t remember… Or do you child?” Voyager whipped around at the voice. Staring into the eyes of a large beast, Voyager once again felt fear. “Don’t fear me my child. For I know what you are seeking…” Voyager looked at the beast with a crooked head. “Come to me little one…” With much apprehension, he stepped towards the towering beast.

”Voyager, I am The Arcanist. I took you in from the tunnels of the Wind Clan. I heard your cries for help and decided you were strong. For it's quite difficult to hatch without the warmth of a nest. If I had not rescued you, you might not have survived little one.” Voyager looked at The Arcanist in awe, quietly thanking him for his compassion and kindness. As Voyager grew, the The Arcanist taught him respectful morals so that Voyager could build his own clan some day.

As Voyager began building his clan, he felt still as if something was missing, yet he couldn't put his finger on it. As more time passed, he felt a void in his chest as if his heart was leaking. Feeling empty, Voyager finally found the courage to seek out The Arcanist's advice once again. He and The Arcanist were practically father and son, for the The Arcanist had raised Voyager into a confident, disciplined dragon.

Before Voyager even reached the The Arcanist's cave, he could feel that his father was waiting for him, calling for him. "Son! It's nice that you came in for a visit!"
"I wish that this was what that was for Father... I haven't been feeling like myself. And if I don't feel like myself I can't teach the others properly Father. I need your advice..."
"What advice do you wish to seek..?"
"I'm empty Father... Something inside me is crying for something that I don't yet have..."

The Arcanist thought for a moment, "Son, you are not empty. You are whole and complete, but there does come a time when your heart yearns for something more than just yourself."
"What are you trying to say, Father?" Voyager asked in a small voice.
"What you seek son, is love..."
