Stardust Sap Lamp
Vardise is an enigma amongst the ranks of Clan Valtinne. Their body is patterned like the night sky, shimmering and glowing with the majesty of the stars. Nobody is sure where the Pearlcatcher came from or how old they are, only that their magical energy is higher than even that of even the oldest mages in the clan. During dark nights, some have reported seeing multi-colored magic leaking from Vardise's body.

Their preferred weapon of choice (that helped bring down an Emperor, if their word can be trusted) is an executioner's axe made of a strange silver-colored alloy. When wielded, it gives off the same star-like patterns found on its wielder's body. The pearl they carry around is pitch black, perpetually absorbing excess magic in the air like a black hole. No one has gotten close enough to even attempt to derive its (and by extension, Vardise's) secrets. Rumor says that Vardise is a creature from beyond the stars who crash landed on Sornieth on a meteor, and is currently masquerading as a Pearlcatcher in an attempt to find a way home.

Vardise prefers to keep to themselves, though they’ve found a companion in Clan Valtinne’s resident shapeshifter. The two are often seen together at the highest peaks of the clan’s territory, gazing up at the stars.

Those brave enough to approach the Starseeker will find a rather philosophical dragon with a mind as sharp as a tack. Those curious enough to engage them in a discussion will find themselves deep in conversation for hours.
