"His metalwork was second to none, and the clan had a great deal of use for someone who knew the secrets of shaping metals. But there was no escaping the fact that Ras, for all his metallurgic wizardry, was a Spiral. Worse, he was a Spiral with a flair for the dramatic."

With his apprentice Wick, Ras oversees the clan forge - which for some reason he demanded be built in the lower levels of the lair - underground. It took some careful planning and even more careful tunneling, but eventually the forge was successfully installed along with a clever chimney system for venting smoke out.

Ras is reclusive, eccentric, a bit on the abrasive side... but that's only to be expected of a brilliant artist. What he lacks in social skills, he makes up for in his skill with hammer, anvil, and chisel.
