RAHAB
The Wavemaster
MATE
CHILDREN |
When he was master of his own lair, Rahab and his queen, the Lady Xanthe, had four children. Xidorn was the eldest of the brood and took after his mother; quick, lean and graceful, he would often race other hatchlings around the lair or play-fight from dawn til long after dusk. Everyone liked him as a youngling, but as days turned to weeks and then to months it became apparent that he'd become a child dragon in an adult's body. One night, long after midnight, Xidorn packed a few belongings and left his lair to find his own place in the world. Later on, word came that he'd abandoned his worldly pursuits to serve directly under the Lightweaver. Tanya's voice was soft and smooth, as was her gait; she could move unheard, unseen, and you'd never know she was there until she was standing right behind you. Things started to vanish, tempers grew short. Eventually, the patriarch of the clan had no choice but to confront his daughter, and when she grudgingly admitted her guilt, Rahab had her sent away to serve in the ranks of the Lightweaver. Adlai was the spitting image of his father - always searching, always pondering, and sometimes curious beyond reason. He learned all he could of his father's brood, his deity and his ways, and then he left to travel the world and further his knowledge even more. Maia, the youngest of the brood, was the only one who chose to stay behind. Gracious and playful like her mother, quick-witted and inquisitive like her father, she brightened the lair with her antiques from the day she was hatched. |
