Caine is one of the youngest princes of the clan. While his father encourages all of his offspring to delve themselves in the arcane arts Caine dislike the use of magic. Caine believes magic is a cheat of ones own abilities. Caine prefers to strengthen his body rather than his mind much to his fathers disapproval. Upon hatching George, his father, carved the runes of the Arcanist into his scales. Caine much wishes to be rid of them but believes them to be a link to his older brother.

Caine's older brother, Abel, has moved on from the clan but keeps in touch with his dear brother. Cain wants to be with his brother again but thinks he is unwelcome elsewhere. He has watched his other siblings move on to other clans and become exalted. He resents his father's ways and longs to strike out on his own but he chooses to wait until his brother returns before he leaves.

Not only dose Caine hate the use of magic he, himself, could be a very powerful wizard. Abel tried to encourage him to use his magical abilities but Caine strongly refused. Caine often trains with the other warriors of the clan hoping to become the next lead protector of the clan. As a prince Caine is in line for the next spiritual leader but he would much rather support his brother for the next leader.
