A Fire Dragon on a Pirate Crew??
A ship's purser (also purser or pusser): is the person on a ship principally responsible for the handling of money on board. On modern merchant ships, the purser is the officer responsible for all administration (including the ship's cargo and passenger manifests) and supply; frequently the cooks and stewards answer to them as well.

Anaglyph came to Clan Diamond Dust with no history that he was willing to discuss and no real ties anywhere. The open sea was the place for him, staring at the stars in the darkness of night on the water.
Still, he had to convince the clan leaders that he was the right dragon for the job. They had a hard time believing that a Fire dragon was comfortable on the sea. However, they were under a time crunch and wanted to fill the crew, so he was hired.
Due to the limited number of permanent crew members, he was handed the job of purser and had to work with Celestura to make sure the ship was properly stocked for the voyages. Often Clan Diamond Dust sent someone from the main clan on the voyages to do the actual trading, especially if it was for specialty items, but he was in charge of the cargo when it was on the boat.
