He glared at her from behind the bars, snarling. "My client won't appreciate your interference."
The spiral laughed, "If you kill her, there is a high chance I will die too, and as you can guess, I do not like those odds."
With sudden ferocity, he lunged at her, but the chains tied around him only allowed him to move less then a foot, choking him in the process.
Amused she watched him behind the bars, her green eyes bright in the dim lighting.
"I may let you out, you know. It may be years, so I recommend you get comfortable."
With a flick of her ribbon wrapped tail, she left the cave and into the snow outside.
"Have fun in the cold!" She called as she leapt into the sky.
Snow swirled into the cave, whipping into his face. Foco shivered, but not from the cold. His thoughts wandered to the pearlcatcher who had hired him to kill a spiral who had, supposedly, gone crazy. The pearlcatcher had worn a plague doctor mask the whole time, only saying that he wanted the spiral dead because it would help his mate heal.
Now, Foco knew not to ask questions, but he couldn't help but wonder what that skeletal spiral had done. But, in truth it really didn't matter. He would kill her, even if it might cause that prophetic spiral to die.
He stared at the snow blowing into the cave, his eyes glowing with determination.
He would not fail.
