NightSky, practicing magic in the ruins, slipped his tongue and uttered a completely different spell than intended. It drained him of his energy, and he collapsed.
That's when a nearby rubble heap shifted, spun, and danced with the life of the haunted magic spell. A spirit possessed the rubble, taking on the form of a Pearlcatcher. Lightfall knew instinctively what her name was, and felt memories flickering through her mind- yet she could not catch any of them. A wing, a great wind, some snow. Two hatchlings being taken by a sickness, and a grief so strong she couldn't breathe... Then an unsteady pillar falling towards her...  The flickering bits of memory didn't make much sense to her yet, she decided.
She looked around, spotting the Fae that animated her; he was seemingly lifeless, his body curled up in the rubble.
She knew what she had to do: save him. So for days she fed, protected, and cared for him. During the nights, she'd try to curl up around him to keep him warm, even though she emitted no warmth.
Days went by, and he strengthened. He was soon good enough to travel and brought her with him to the Liar.
She was accepted in and thanked greatly for her heroism.

Now, she reads scrolls and books quietly under the sun, enjoying the warmth it produces. She enjoys learning and studying things with NightSky, the only dragon she truly knows in the Clan. She loves him, but he does not share the same affection; he is enfolded in learning about ghosts... And to him, she is merely a statue.

Slowly, as she grew accustomed to Clan life, her memories became clearer. She’d be sucked into the memories, unable to escape the pieces that put themselves together.
A large group of dragons, all from different Flights, fighting black ‘dragons’. She was certain they weren’t actual dragons- their eyes were like voids of darkness, their movements less graceful than those of the playful Wind, even less predictable than those of the tricky Shadow.
Lots of snow, and fear… Fear for someone’s safety, she could recall. Beside her, a flash of brown and green. A Wildclaw, from the scent- hurtling towards a Mirror with the same void-like eyes. A red, bandaged bundle of teeth and claws, fighting another ‘void-dragon’, his war screeches horrific and blood-chilling. Lightfall raced to assist a Tundra on the battlefield. He was hopelessly outnumbered, standing over a small, green body, seemingly protecting it. His thick coat caught in the attackers’ claws as they jumped at him, rendering their claws useless.
A small, pink dragon made it before she did. He muttered something into the frigid air. A giant snake appeared, coiled around the Tundra. The snake’s jaws opened, showing massive teeth, then proceeded to snap at the other black dragons, warding them off. Lightfall knew it was an illusion- somewhere in the back of her mind, she knew all of these dragons, what they did, and the magic they used- and this particular pink Fae did illusionary magic well.
The void dragons knew it was an illusion somehow, and jumped right past it, swamping the Tundra. He went down under a wave of snarling darkness in a heartbeat, unable to flee.
The small, green shape wailed pitifully as a void dragon bit onto her wing and dragged her away. Lightfall surged forward, closing her jaws onto the void dragon’s neck. The Tundra could help himself for now, she knew. He was strong and enduring, and with the small dragon, he’d probably escape.
She bit down harder onto his spine, killing him swiftly, and bundled the green hatchling with her to safer place, away from the battlefield. As she turned around to survey the scene, the wind kicked in, blasting snow everywhere. Panicked, she ducked over the hatchling, and her whole world went white.

Lightfall is keen to learn- about her past, mostly. Every day, she gets closer to connecting with the spirit possessing her, so their memories can be one and the same. She's usually lost in thoughts and memories, rendering her quiet most of the time. If you were to talk though, she'd gladly listen, and reply just as much. Many young hatchlings have a tough time figuring out how she's alive and made of stone, making her the center of attention for the young ones. Her eyes seem to shine with a light many don't see- the light of the spirit possessing her.
