Biography
So this dragon named Glint was bred in my lair about a year ago:
She's about as normal of a dragon as you'd expect, the clan tailor- weaving fine fabrics with some enchantments to enhance the wearer's abilities. She's a little odd but definitely not the weirdest member of the clan. Trust me, there are some weird ones.
But.. not long ago this strange creature sprang up.
Occupying a lair space out of the blue, the creature the clan has dubbed as 'Echo' showed up shorty before the time of mimics in Night of the Nocturne, and has been shadowing Glint's movements.
Glint treats it like she'd treat any other dragon, talking to it, sharing food, making sure it doesn't need anything... and Echo seems to talk back, the members of the clan have seen Echo's mouth moving as it looks at Glint, but when they get within earshot, it seems not to be making any noise. Yet, Glint responds to it like they're making casual conversation.
Weirder still, Echo refuses to ackdownledge the existence of any other dragon. In fact, it's head is always facing in Glint's direction. Nobody has ever seen it look away. Even when there is a wall in between Echo and Glint, Echo seems to know exactly where Glint is, constantly facing her. It seems incapable of sleep, simply standing still in its den when Glint is resting.
There's only one story in the clan about a difference in this behavior.
This is Lavasioth:
She claims to have once been out hunting, scavenging various foods for the clan, when Echo had near-silently showed up just behind her. She claims that she was spooked so thoroughly by this that she had scratched Echo- out of reflex. Ready to apologize, she opened her jaw to speak, but when she turned to face Echo, the creature opened it's mouth, reportedly entirely black- with no visible features- and emitted a deafening, overwhelming, ear drum-shattering noise, not quite a scream, not quite a language, akin to the scraping of metal against concrete. Overwhelming enough to make Lavasioth faint - so she claims. When she woke, she was acres away from the clan- bordering Light territory.
Problem is that Lavasioth is a known liar, who makes up rumors and stories to simply attract attention to herself. She swears this is the truth to her apprentice- Furnan- who seems to think there might be a little more truth to this than her usual claims, but still has a strong level of doubt.
What can be said for sure is that Echo isn't an ordinary member of the clan, but then again, 'ordinary' is a rare quality in Carronus' troop.
