Ohoho ok so after Azara's exiled after the rebellion arc she starts a whole other can of worms on the island she lives on. Desara is a seedy offshoot of the Golden Court, a tiny island in the middle of the River and a bed of criminals. Azara goes in there and starts raising hell until she's the second leading power there, right below Donna Annaliese. Azara doesn't like this, obviously, so the most rational decision is to start a cult/gang of her own so she can have lackeys that fear her and see her for the goddess she is. Truly, it's the best of both worlds. And so the Clarae (of clear minds and bloodied blades) were formed. Members were called Diviners, after the Divine they worshipped. Annaliese starts a huge rampage in Desara because of this, and then you have the Battle of the Titans- Annaliese, who practically controls the Court at that point, and Azara, Queen of the Underbelly. Ooo! I think that's when I'm going to introduce Tyr, actually. He shows up, smokes them and the Triumvirate, and performs the most peaceful takeover in Clan history.

Azara is the goddess of storms, change, destruction, and abundance. Pre-Sorneithian lore represented her with the Southern Wind since it brought a change in the weather that marked the beginning of the harvest season, but also destroyed many crops. Because of her association with the changing winds, dragons saw her as a servant or child of the Windsinger. They reinvented her as a sort of cherub, and with time, her lore was completely twisted. This could not be farther from her original purpose, and it infuriates her to no end. She used to be respected and feared in ancient societies, viewed as both a wellspring for fortune and a herald of death.
