ZIRAH

The kind protector

just like any other guardian dragon, Zirah left her birth clan at a young age to go on "the search" for something (or someone) she is bound to guard. she wandered for a few years fighting in arenas for living, at some point she also started offering protection from all sorts of danger to travelers journeying on large distances. one day a mysterious dragon offered quite a hefty sum in exchange for Zirah escorting her to a small town on the plague territory. Zirah agreed, hoping that maybe plague grounds will be the place where her search will end. that hope actually turned into reality...

The mysterious female dragon turned out to be an old priestess from a small clan living in The Wandering Contagion. she offered Zirah a place to stay for a few days, Zirah accepted the kind offer, and during these few days she made quite a few friends among the dragons from the plague clan she was staying in. on the day she was supposed to leave, she felt like she shouldn't go, but its rude to
abuse the hospitality of your hosts, so she left either way. she wandered around The Wandering Contagion for a few days, until one day she found a hatchling from the plague clan she was staying with a few days ago. the hatchling was scared and tired, he told Zirah that two days after she left a gang of mercenaries raided their lair. other clan dragons were either killed or taken hostage, only the little hatchling managed to escape. he wanted to find Zirah, as she's the only hope left for the clan.

Of course Zirah agreed to help, she ambushed the gang at night, freeing all the dragons who were kept hostage and imprisoning all the gang members who later got banished from the plague grounds. sadly, one of the dragons who got wounded in the process was the old priestess. since she was very old and fragile, and her wounds were so severe there was nothing that could be done for her anymore. for the next few days everyone was trying to make the priestess as comfortable as possible in her last days, and on her death bed she called Zirah to her lair, in front of every dragon from the clan she said "I knew you'll be the protector this clan needed. please accept this gift from me, and please protect this Clan in my name. you're the one we've been waiting for", she handed a small trinket, a skull shaped necklace carved from some kind of stone to Zirah. "Goodbye, my dear children, I'm leaving to serve Plaguebringer for the rest of eternity, with your new protector you'll be safe, thank you." and with that she took her final breath. From that day on, Zirah stayed with her new clan. she not only found a new family, but she also knew that with the skull shaped necklace came the end of her search. that was the thing she was looking for her whole life. she was the guardian of the little trinket, even though she didnt know about it's significance yet.

-- Role of familiar // Madeon became really attached to Zirah after she pulled him out from under some kind of collapsed ancient ruins. probably due to the impact of all the weight falling on him his system went haywire and he went offline so he's not a part of the pack anymore. he's acting just like a normal, somewhat dumb dog. He searches for all sorts of scraps, trinkets or materials that he later gives to Zirah.
