Mogwai was raised by ‘monsters’. For as long as he could remember he lived in the ghostlight ruins. He was born and raised by spectors, and as far as he was concerned he knew everything about them. He lived with them for a long time, avoiding other dragons when they neared, seeing as they destroyed his friends. He resented others for injuring his friends and decided to attempt to protect them, but he realised that to get resources he’d need treasure and, being excluded from dragon society for so long, he had no idea how to get it. So he trailed a group of dragons that passed through the ruins in hopes of being led to a market or a tradingpost. Instead what he encountered was a circus. In this circus was a huge haunted house, with what he could tell were fake spectors spooking people with cheap scares. As much as he was disgusted by the spectacle, he realised it was something he could set up far more easily. With his in depth knowledge he could make far more realistic ghost, and with some persuasion he could even get his friends to help. He used the few resources he already had and set up his own haunted attraction, where dragons could not only get spooked but could learn more about the creatures they encountered. He made a mighty fine sum from this endeavor, much to his delight, and never wavered form his original goal to protect the real ghosts. No dragon saw through his ruse, until one day a wildclaw girl came in. In the middle of a tour where he gave detail about spectors, she bluntly said to his face that his attractions were fake. He was more than flustered and took a minute to recover in front of the large crowd, but once he did a spector friend did him a favor and popped up and screamed in her face, keeping the crowd on his side. The girl didn’t flinch, but did seem surprised. After the tour, he quickly approached her in a secluded space. At this point, he wasn’t upset about her calling him out in front of his group, but more interested in how she knew his attractions were fake, when many self acclaimed experts were unaware. With a little shyness, that he noted she lacked earlier, she explained that she only. She had read extensively on spectors, and had always felt a connection to them, but this was the first time she’d ever actually encountered one. She immediately interrogated him on how he met the spectors, and he gave a very vague life story, to which she immediately responded that she wanted to meet his friends. He was a little hesitant, but part of him was eager for a friend, and decided to bring her to where he lived. To his surprise she immediately hit it off with his friends, and was able to communicate with them in a way he never could. He might’ve known more about them but she was practically one of them. It only took a few hours of talking for her to admit that she, too, was an orphan. She was found near the hewn city and was raised to fight the creature who attempted to venture out from it. However, she found herself relating with the spectors, and ran away to avoid the fight. She explained to him that all over sornieth are clans who believed something to be haunted and want the creature exterminated. She goes in, pretending to be a monster hunter, and instead persuades them to leave. She explained that she saw that he had a familial connection with them and had more knowledge than she ever would on them, and asked him to partner up with her as fake monster hunters. Mogwai hesitated at first, but he felt confidant in the defense he set up at the ruins, and wanted to help other ghosts, so he agreed. The girl introduced herself as Banshee, and invited him to live with her at the clan she currently called her homebase. Ever since then the par travelled around, saving ghosts in situations were they should’ve been killed. Eventually, they’re tight teamwork turned into close friendship and then budding romance. |
