B I O G R A P H Y

The story of Death and her Twin Sister Decay is one for the ages. In fact, they have been around for ages tending to the dead and soon to be deceased. Many scrolls exists through Sornieth recalling the sight of the ghostly pearlcatcher sisters and their Skydancer companion who often appear just before a death. For many, they are simply a legend, a cautious tale for hatchlings that stray. However, Death, Decay, and Pestilence are all very real and very dangerous.

Their story begins with their parents. A pair of Pearlcatchers from different walks of life who mated to continue their superior Pearlcatcher bloodline. They had two eggs while visiting the Spiral Keep and within hours the two scrambled to decide where they should go. The mother wanted her children to return to the light flight where they were created by her deity, the Lightweaver. The father wanted them to return to his plague territory where his family awaited them. Unable to agree, each one took and egg and left for their respective homes. This choice would lead to the hatchlings demise.

Uknown to the parents, the Pearlcatchers forming inside the eggs were bonded twins. As soon as the parents crossed into different territories, their magic depleted and they became stillborn. The father greatly mourned for his egg, but the mother was disgusted with hers and left it be. Both hatchlings spirits were left alone, separated, and confused. The plague child cried often, having lost a father she greatly wanted to know. These cries fell on the ears of another wandering spirit, Pestilence. The Skydancer traveled the world, tending to the dead, and was very lonely. She adopted the tiny Pearlcatcher and raised her as her own. She was given the name Decay, and Decay begged her to help her find her sister who was lost in the Sunbeam Ruins. They simply could not be apart. Though a little disgruntled, Pestilence agreed, and the two were shortly reunited once again and forevermore.

_PESTILENCE_

____Pestilence is a motherly figure for Decay. Since Decay's spirit was given passion from greif she does not cling to Pestilence like her sister does. She was much more willing than her sister was to serve as a fellow burial guardian and helps serve as a warning to danger for dragons who are nearing danger or reaching their time.

____Decay serves Pestilence more heavily with tasks as she was the first for Pestilence to come in contact with. Pestilence loves both of her girls and helps them cope with their own fates as well as the fates of the dragons they assist in the afterlife. Pestilence has taught them how to properly bury a fallen dragon who has yet to move on due to a variety of reasons including the lack of a ceremony, unsolved grievances, or shock.

_DEATH_

____Decay loves her sister greatly, as shown when she demanded Pestilence help her find her spirit which was lost on the other side of Sornieth. Decay can sometimes be pushy and overly protective of her sister, often times more than Pestilence would be.

____Death is more likely to appear than her sister if the dragon that is passing will fall in battle or to some other sudden, violent, and often unexpected cause. Death appears most often when a dragon is approaching danger as a final warning. Her job is much more difficult than Decay's as dragons who died this way have a harder time coping with the experience and moving on to the afterlife.
