He is the definition of "head in the clouds," and Treebeard doesn't seem to care one bit. prefers to spend his days out in the fields, dreaming up poetry and searching for meaning in the shapes of the clouds above. He takes everything slow, preferring a leisurely pace to life. Conversations with Stratus can quickly derail into musings on life and what it all means. Just recently Treebeard found his charge when he met the beautiful mountain goats grazing nearby. At times they need to get from one green field to another, depending on which succulent green treat they are in the mood for, and rather than have a long journey, Treebeard puts them aboard his mighty back and gets them to their new grazing grounds in no time. He usually has several just lounging and grazing on his mighty back when he graciously upturns small trees and grasses and mosses for them to eat as he goes about his day. As for his contributions to the clan, this easy-going Guardian is wonderfully strong and always ready to be called upon when expansions to the lair are needed. His broad back can support plenty of weight, whether it be packs of belongings needed to be moved, or a new wall that needs to be secured into place. His wide paws are great for digging, and his wings for rising up above it all to see the bigger picture ... of the construction effort, as well as for life itself. Treebeard is often seen as somewhat introverted, but he prefers to call it introspection instead. Whichever it is, he's fascinating to converse with and reliable to a fault when it comes to physical tasks.
