Sonora was once a true dragon, one made of flesh and bone knit together by magic. One experimental spell from a necromancer--one who had known them in life--brought them back into existence, body patched together with opal and feathers replaced by gems. They had no memories and the necromancer abandoned them, regretting the decision and unwilling to bear the burden of helping Sonora.

They wandered from clan to clan for years, finding no suitable place to settle, and finding fear and uncertainty when it was discovered that they were not a dragon; at least, not anymore. Their magic was tinged with something unusual, and could be devastating when used on living beings.

It wasn’t until they traveled between the Tangled Wood and Sunbeam Ruins that they found a truly kindred spirit: Caesius. Their meeting was one that happened by chance, and Caesius did not so much greet them as he did lead them to his home, as if sensing Sonora’s loneliness.

Over the following months, they returned time and time again between their travels, eventually settling down. They learned the skill of jewelcrafting, tirelessly decorating the lair and earning coin for the clan, and fell in love with Sargo, who courted them with gifts of amber.

The two of them raise children together, Sonora using the same necromancy that brought them back to piece together injured and abandoned eggs, and Sargo’s magic giving the hatchlings the capability to grow. Their children are nurtured and raised with the skills they need to survive, and one by one they leave the clan, eager to explore more than this isolated corner of a forest.
