B I O G R A P H Y

Adelaide is not a dragon.

______ At least, she doesn’t really think so, not completely. In her mind, she has always known that she was part robot, part machine. Not like the others. Sure, she was born to dragon parents, but there is something that separates her even from them. The electric blue circuitry that shimmers across her scales acts as a computerized matrix, transmitting millions of bytes of information to her CPU brain every second. Between that, and her extreme fear of anything even remotely magnetic or water-like, it is obvious that she isn’t your neurotypical Nocturne. Unlike the other dragons, when she has an injury or experiences a glitch in her programming she visits the clan mechanic, rather than the doctor.

______ It is unknown how or why Adelaide became a cyborg, as her parents preferred not to disclose this information. Some speculate that she experienced some kind of terrible trauma or injury as a hatchling, and robotic alterations were the only way to save her. However, a darker theory suggests she was abducted by a mysterious technology-worshipping cult as a child. These dragons choose to mutilate themselves and add robotic augmentations to their bodies in order to ascend to a superior level of existence. These cyborg-purists have been known to steal eggs and perform experiments on the hatchlings, raising them up to be disciples in the name of the Stormcatcher. Adelaide’s past is of little importance now, however, as she has no recollection of life before.

Adelaide is valued for her superb computation abilities and unbiased logic. Her lack of emotions makes her a potentially ruthless opponent in battle, bolstered by the protection of her insulating circuitry and mechanical augments. Her only weaknesses are magnets and water, as these interact negatively with her technology interfaces. Adelaide’s intensely logical CPU prevents her from processing emotions and sarcasm; she takes everything literally. This is unnerving to many dragons, as she lacks the sociability that is traditionally associated with her breed. Despite this, she is above all a simplistic dragon. Though the other dragons will never quite understand, she longs most to feel the tingle of electricity traveling up her spine and the blissful humming of machinery.
