Born into the charismatic Arcane Flight, Vanniti initially thought nothing of the Arcanist. He was a deity -- more precisely, her clan's deity, and someone the exalts in her clan went to. However, despite this fact, she thought of him as nothing more than a picture in her history textbook.

The situation would soon prove itself changed. Being of Arcane heritage, Vanniti possessed the symbolic curiosity that made Arcane both famous and infamous. And with her clan lair right next to the Observatory -- well, what better way to start her career as the next great adventurer by breaking into the Arcanist's residence?

Vanniti was probably expecting advanced technology and security magic of the highest capability, but sneaking into the Observatory proved disturbingly easy -- she simply walked right through the front doors. Or, at least that's how she likes to tell it, along with something along the lines of invisibility spells she somehow can no longer replicate. And, well, if the security cameras caught her sneaking in using comedic ninja skills like art of the frog and flight of the crane -- hey, that was probably some other loser trying to break into the Starseer's holdings. Vanniti would never act in such a lame way.

After having successfully snuck past the non-existent guards, Vanniti did what any other excited hatchling would do -- explore. Across the long hallways she went, darting past the feet of busy assistants and several surprised researchers. As night fell on the outside world, Vanniti found herself where no hatchling had ever gone before -- on the roof of the Observatory.

And there she met the Arcanist.

He was conducting one of his many experiments, a runic circle aglow about him and lined with telescopes. As Vanniti watched, at first unsure what this weird multi-limbed creature was doing, the air about him sparkled and a wisp of magic as bright as her eyes shot towards the sky. Consequently, meteors began to fall across the night sky, connecting together stars far apart.

"Isn't it beautiful, Vanniti?" The Arcanist asked, his brilliant eyes settling down on her. "Would you like to watch them?"

The next day, when Vanniti returned to the lair, there was an obvious change in her. She was always bubbling over with enthusiasm, but now it had somehow both changed and multiplied. She started speaking to those who preached of the Arcanist, and many of the seniors in the clan were surprised by her interest. She spoke of the stars, of spells, and of the Starseer that ruled over them. Her clanmates were somewhat unsettled by this change of pace, but they did not mind it.

Vanniti never did tell anyone of her expedition to the Observatory, but she remembered it like yesterday -- the shining stars above her, the eye of a telescope before her, and Arcane's deity commencing magical rituals behind her.

And since that fateful day, her devotion to the Arcanist was absolute. The Arcanist's telescopes being shiny has nothing to do with it. She doesn't know what you're talking about.

The Arcanist has many worshippers, but Vanniti believes herself to be the most devout of them all. As the youngest full member of the clan, she also serves as treasurer, hoarding funds for dominance pushes and when it comes to it -- stopping her clanmates from using said funds to do petty things, like buy apparel and food. More often than not, she won't let even the clan leader withdraw the coins. Her clanmates believe that she's just trying to stop them from using up all the bank funds, but what most of them probably don't know is just exactly how far the bank funds is from being used up. There are rumours that Vanniti hoards treasure that rivals the treasury of the Observatory itself, but the condition of the last survivor who tried to sneak into the Vault has quite effectively persuaded her clanmates to avoid spreading such frivolous, impossible rumours.

Though she occasionally comes off as strong, Vanniti's clanmates don't mind her constant fundraising and her urge to solve every problem using complex mathematical equations nobody other than her can understand. She's friendly enough with her clanmates and other fellow arcane clans, and has also served as the peacemaker between several conflicts. Her clanmates have also found themselves relying on her to solve their math problems, since she might be the only dragon in the lair who can deal with equations.

However, just because Vanniti is nice doesn't mean she can't be ruthless. Fiercely protective of her flight's honour and most importantly, the Arcanist, she will stop at nothing to win a battle against other flights. She'd even sell her mother to the Arcanist for a corn chip if that was what it took to win. Anything for the Arcanist, after all, and even if that came to ending the world, she's all for it.

And Vanniti's ruthlessness isn't just directed at opposing flights, but also at the exalts within the lair. If a battle comes up, she's getting them out of the lair. Of course, she does start off such conversations with the civil "Would you like to go serve our lord the Arcanist?", but to be fair, she doesn’t really care if it’s a yes or nay. If a dragon already promised they’d be exalts and were exalts, she’s kicking them out of the lair and there’s nothing they can do about it. None. Nada. Those who attempt to return will be welcomed with a frying pan in the face.
