Huso is a star by nature. Everything, from the golden filigree looping around him to the cards that float about him at his whim, gives him a sense of magical appeal. He's a performer, a magician, and a talent by any other name. What he sees in his cards, however, isn't some circus game; his visions and predictions are accurate to a tee, however vague they are.

Most of the dragons in this lair seem to be critical of him, scrutinizing him when he's not looking, but you can't tell why...

LAIR RELATIONS

When he's not being scrutinized by the more in-the-know dragons of the lair, he's one of the lair's stars. Whenever a dragon has time, Huso is more than happy to give them a card trick or two to wrap their mind around. The dragons who actually take the time to talk to him find that he is in no short of topics to mull over. And, most importantly, he always captures the attention of hatchlings with his magical tricks and do-dads!

Vega, his mother, is who he has to thank for his magic. Aside from the heritage bonuses, his mother is his trusted confidant. She taught him everything he knows, and continues to foster his capabilities through small lessons. The only thing she fails to mention is his true father...

Valkyrie is his longtime friend and compatriot in the coliseum. Without her, he doubts that he could succeed in his escapades; her more wild and tactical personality compliments his slower prowess well. She's one of the few dragons who has made Midnighthour laugh.

STORY

Huso is a "happy" accident. He was born to Bluejay and Vega, Bluejay being a dragon of the inner circle but by no means royalty, and Vega being the wife of the founder. Or, at least, that is what they'd grow to be.

Before Vega became Midnighthour's mate, she and Bluejay had flirted with the idea of being mates. They shared nights together, and saw the sights that all of the Arcane territory had to offer in their waking hours. He even dragged her over to the Viridian Labyrinth a number of times to show her the sights of his homeland. He adored her, and she found him a bubbly break from the seriousness of her mate.

However, Bluejay had found it increasingly difficult to stay away from her. He questioned why she, this powerful sightseer and intensely empathetic imperial, would chose Midnighthour of all dragons. Here he was, offering her a life filled with no-stress excursions and a happy relationship, and here she was, voicing her claims to staying true to Midnighthour.

Regardless of this particular tension, they carried on. Many nights thereafter rolled along, the stars and their constellations making their passes above them.

One of those nights, they drew each other particularly close. Too close. Just... close enough.

Vega had a clutch of eggs several weeks later, one of which being Huso.

Much like his true father, Bluejay, Huso grew to be even tempered, if not a little excitable. However, he now bears a charming and lustful charisma that is a rarity among dragons in this lair. He has also retained a great capacity to understand and relate to emotions while comprehending the art of visualizing futures, which is a result of his mother's similar and stronger ability.
