They named him Bard. He was not sure if it was some sort of joke of their part. Apparently it was a honor to be named by Salor, the egg keeper of the clan. It didn’t feel like it… Bard really didn’t like this family even from the start, and never really knew why. He didn’t have this sickening immunity the other seemed to have, catching every bacteria flying around. Life was hard and no one really wanted to make friends with each other. The only real person he considered as a sister was Keiro, the weirdos taking care of brewing everything she could get her tiny paws on. He liked her, she was funny in her craziness. She was also the one encouraging him to tell the silly story he always came up with. She liked them even if he could tell most of the time she didn’t listen to anything. Too busy with her cauldron. Some day something weird happened. The flight he was living in was getting agitated, the stronger of them taking young adult with them to god know where. Most of them were his age, and he they all seemed to be going somewhere else. It’s Keiro who found him first, before the elder. ‘’COMME WITH ME BROTHER!’’ She said, flying in front of him like the little wicked butterfly she was. He followed her adopted sister. She hide him in his den for a few day before telling him what happened. An exalting push she said. And when she explained him what it was, Bard was horrified. So it’s been like that all along? They never really wanted him, just be raised and sent to this crazy thing called the plaguebringer? Never! |

Bard flew far far away from the rotting land. As far as his wings took him. He searched far, discovered new places, but never really stopped to make the new land his homes. A flight of ice dragon came to his help one day as he got lost. He had been amazed by the pure white dragons, all preserved by any kind of plague by the icy walls surrounding their land. They told him where to go next, the Windswept Plateau. It was stupid, so close to the Scarred Wasteland he never thought about looking there. He hesitated at first. But one day he decided that’s where he wanted to go. The place where he hatched. It’s yet to see what will happen in his new home. A new clan to adapt himself too. Gone was the rotting smell of the wasted land, putrid trees and gooey river all behind him. The new fresh hair of this side of the world was a blessing, finding it back have been a dream come truth and even if he didn’t really knew anything about his new family, it was still better than this bloody clan who adopted the hatching he once was. Wind was taking wherever he wanted, grass was always green and food was easy to find. Even people willing to listen to his story about his exploring! Bard was now an happy dragon. |
