FEIVEL


He is not well known, and he is content with this. Those who see him do not think of him, do not notice him. He dresses plainly and lives in the middle of the Southern Icefields as a hermit. When one learns of his occupation, they might laugh. His kind are heathens, they may say. It is unnatural for them to worship, one may spit, forcing the word "them" off their tongue like an unpleasant taste. This is not the Land of Light, anyhow.

Yet here he is.

During the day, he obtains books and scrolls for a deep underground collection. But at night, his sets alight several braziers in his mulifloored pavillion, and his tribute of a shimmering stained glass lighthouse blazes as bright as the Aurora itself. He is perfectly fine with his lack of recognition. The cruel words do not reach his heart. He is a devout priest with a glittering sanctuary, and he is happy.
