"Oh my gosh a new book!!"
Sorrel is a scholar of magic. Dedicated completely to researching ancient tomes of spells, you can find this handsome young Pearlcatcher either holed up somewhere in the lair with a crumbling spellbook or setting out on a long adventure with the goal of finding some or other ancient artifact. Mainly, Sorrel does this just out of his pure love for magic and research. But on top of that, there is still a quiet hope in his heart that someday, he will find something that will cure his strange disease.

No one knew it when Sorrel was born, but for some reason, he had a terrible noncontagious affliction in which every time he casts a spell, it saps his energy and frays the edges of his very mind. And as it does, it also changes his appearance. Already his left eye has turned ice blue, and his scales and mane become whiter and whiter in color while his runic markings become brighter, as though the gene is leeching color from his body.

Sorrel is able to slow the affects of the disease by trying to limit his own magic use and, when he has no choice but to cast a spell, he tries to draw energy from one of the many special artifacts that he has collected and tries to keep within the pockets of his cloak as often as he can.

Perhaps someday the young dragon will find what he is looking for, but for now, his only hope is simply to continue to look.
