Nightsky is a good friend of Shoama, and legends say that nightsky is a rare species, though anyone can find dragons with dark patterns, but Nightsky never really cared. Shoama gathers pray by chasing prey down holes and waiting for their prey to escape. Shoama found a tasty looking prey and did the same thing. But the prey did not escape but instead convinced Shoama to set it free. Shoama got annoyed but Shoama still did. The prey told Shoama it also wanted to be a dragon but it never could. Eventually they became good friends too, and to this day the prey is Shoama's familiar, and Nightsky is jealous.

Legends say after the dragon is a dark dragon, and true enough, yes, and Nightsky is a dark dragon. Before a dark dragon is a mammoth, but I could not find a familiar that was brown so I picked a mouse.
