Ashur came to the school, as most young dragons, with the intention of becoming a student and learning the eldritch arts. He soon discovered that he did not have the mind or talents for it. The magics that weave together the world simply do not speak to him strongly, and no amount of studying could change that.

He could easily have fallen to the same fate as any other failed student -- and in a school operated by a death cultist, that is a serious concern -- were it not for his shrewd mind for numbers. Magically inept as he may be, Ashur is quite good at pushing pennies and finding income in unexpected places, and he's earned his place in the tower thanks to this talent.

He has few friends and spends little time socializing, but nearly everyone knows him -- even if they only manage to think of him as "that sarcastic guy with the hat."
