Xalkryst has always been interested in rocks, crystals, gems, and the like. When they stumbled into the Mosstal Grotto, they immediately were enamored by the crystal formations, staying there to study them. As they studied, they also came to harvest and collect crystals from the caverns of Mauvoss. In order to both provide and preserve the crystals, Xalkryst became their Keeper (a self given title, but one that was adopted by all in the Grotto and across the Mauvoss dens).

They ended up creating a shop, selling crystals to fellow dragons. While is was a proper store, they really didn't ask for treasure, nor did your typical trade. Xalkryst could ask for any manner of things, from a pouch of dirt from the Gladekeeper's territory or to an improvized poem, to a basic pebble or a simple twirl. Xalkryst's oddball personality tends to offput many dragons, but those in the Grove and some in other dens have slowly adapted to their odd but kindly nature.
