Stellanera

Progress past hurt and into strength

Stellanera

History ""When a hatchling she observed the formation of the clan's first squad. Stellanera aimed to join them in driving away the hostile clans. When the clan was still small and the potential threat of devastation still loomed. Her lack of resemblance to either her parents or her siblings, aroused suspicion, she is thought to have hatched from a passing Light clan's discarded egg. In adolescence, she trained under Elysia, the chief alchemist. Her analytical mind was seen as an asset in understanding this art. The stirring of cauldrons and handling of the red-hot coals caused her to develop many burns and cuts, these minor injuries of alchemists lead to restricted movements due to scarring in later years, forcing them to retire. An experiment was conducted, looking for a magical means to prevent these injuries, she volunteered to be the tester of this solution. In the places where the scarred tissue was, thick protective scales grew. As she grew, her desire for recognition grew also. She began to gather scavenged armour, and consulted with passing merchants and nomads on the benefits and how to create it. Sleath and evasion were the squads only protection from attack, the use of armour was still rare in the clan. Stellanera advocated for a change to this, gifting her most prized pieces to the clan's leader, asking her to use it in battle. When this saved Kauri from a battle wound due to the protection, the suspicion finally fully faded. As a blessing Kauri gathered ancient spells that would change one's wings from skin to crystal. The splattered pattern which set her apart from the others was replaced with a near identical set of wings as her mother, finally seeing the bond she longed for as a child, she could begin to move on from her isolation. Dantris, the heiress, and Silail, the child of nobility, became close friends of hers. She worried they were underestimating the threats they faced, because of this her desire to begin the training the others received at the cusp of maturity grew. But this want was no longer one for honour and respect, but for the ability to provide for and protect others."" |
