Artist, Mage
A team of recon dragons found Garnet's egg deep in a cave during a scouting mission in Earth territory. They assumed the egg was an ancient, petrified specimen, probably laid and forgotten long ago. Its shell was heavily worn, and chunks of garnet were embedded in its surface. It was brought back to the clan as an attractive curiosity, and sat among piles of minerals and gems in the communal hoard for months.
It came as a great shock to all when one day, at the height of the Rockbreaker's Ceremony, the presence of a massive Earth dragon was felt by the clan's magic users. Amidst shrieking alarms and scrambling warriors, a tiny fae toddled out of the hoard's depths. His body bore the same colors as the garnet-riddled egg. Earth magic radiated from the tiny creature in bone-shaking waves. Dust swirled and small pebbles chattered against the ground as he passed, as if clamoring for his attention.
The fae, named "Garnet" for his apparent connection to the gem, was born with an extremely powerful connection to earth magic. A bright and eager student, he was welcomed with open wings by the clan's mages. In addition to magical talent, Garnet has a great love of beauty and the arts. His works mostly center around trying to reveal the full potential of gems and minerals. He refuses to sign these art pieces, crediting them to the earth itself in accordance with his philosophy that true beauty is innate, and therefore cannot be created, only revealed.
Since Alexandria hatched, Garnet has been a willing and enthusiastic participant in her magical experiments, happily lending immense amounts of magical energy in pursuit of new discoveries. The unstable (and, admittedly, explosive) nature of these experiments eventually led to the two being formally banned from the clan's on-site labs, though their work continues in a remote location with full support from Tesla.
