He's been chasing magic across Sornieth since he was a hatchling — of course, every dragon has at least a little bit of magic in them, but he's interested in drawing power from the ground, watching runes and energies and sparks rise around his feet as the strange and beautiful earth bubbles with the weight of the past. He understands the danger of treading hallowed ground (and unhallowed ground, and just about everything lying between Ice and Nature territory). The thing is, he doesn't care about the danger. Seeing everything around him come to life is worth it.

This particular form of sorcery is neither rare nor financially advantageous, so Leyline (he chose the name himself — clever, innit?) makes ends meet by tracking rogue dragons across Sornieth. He gets to travel, he's not forced into loyalty and the pay is decent when you're good at your job, which he is. Nobody really questions why he chooses to track on foot.
