At the peak of a crystal mountain lies a cavern. It radiates a serene aura, spitting a steady rose colored stream from its maw. The water is soft to the touch and sweet to the senses. Following the stream, walking against its flow, you travel deeper into the peak cave, but there is no darkness. Crystal formations on the wall glow bright, illuminating your every step. They seem more and more prominent the farther you go, and when you reach the heart of the cave, the heart of this clan, you find a circular chamber with walls covered in the luminescent crystal. Water runs around the perimeter of the room, and in the middle sits a veiled Pearlcatcher, running her claws slowly along the surface of her precious gem.

Her eyes are covered by several thick layers of fabric, both coarse and fine. At her side sits a Chimera who drifts a little closer to her as you continue your approach. You have heard whispers about her during your ascent. She is the leader of this clan, though not all agree with her reign. Day and night she sits in a near-meditative trance, and for many years, her prophecies have lead the clan to peace and prosperity. Foes are eliminated before they even have a chance to attack. Her hunters always seem to know where to go to find food.

In return for her wisdom, she lives in utmost comfort, served by the lesser dragons of her clan. You know that she has spawned many children. Most no longer live with her; to serve the Arcanist is their ultimate goal, in the hopes that one day her commitment to them might be truly cemented in the history books.

Chatelaine is far from the most beautiful or most powerful among her clanmates. She is rather small, as a matter of fact, and lacks a significant presence for the most part. But she is wise above all else, and has a gift for predicting the future. She speaks very little outside of her premonitions, with most of the day-to-day leadership relegated to others. No one in the clan seems to know where her abilities developed, though others in the clan have most certainly tried to replicate it.

The seer is notoriously flippant about those she chooses as mates. It is common knowledge that she wishes only to reproduce in pursuit of giving her children to the Arcanist as aides. As a result, status does not come hand-in-hand with a clutch of eggs. If anything, the children gain presence within the clan, while more often than not, the mates sink into obscurity.

While her pearl is her life, as with most Pearlcatchers, Chatelaine does possess an eye for treasure. She particularly enjoys beads and baubles, which are offered to her in exchange for personal readings. Some neighbouring clans have taken to requesting her third eye, but her price for them is hefty. As a result, it is said that she has a large hoard, but it is nowhere to be found within her nest.
