Biography
Master of conspiracies
After aiding the previous King in deposing his tyrannical father, Wisp's status had been on the rise. Traitors are only traitors when they are on the wrong side of history... but tyrants seldom forgive betrayal.
Wisp kept his head down as he traversed the halls of the Night King's castle, knowing enough to keep his tail from lashing with anxiety. The king's mad hound took a vicious pleasure in hunting down conspiracists, and Wisp had seen enough of them dragged off, never to be seen again, that he did not want to share their fate.
He headed down a side corridor, acting as nonchalant as he could despite the feeling that the entire castle could hear his heart beat against his chest. Was he being followed? The king took him for a dim-witted fool (of course, his majesty was an imperial, and Wisp had met few imperials who didn't believe themselves to be better than everyone, crown or not), but he had councellors who were much smarter and much more observant. Had he not been a son of the Loremaster and brother to the king's favored consort, would he already have been grabbed by Noctis' shadows?
The pearlcatcher shook his head. No, he'd been careful enough not to slip up, and fretting about would only make him look suspicious. He stepped into the parlor - one of many leisure rooms of the castle, but the only one that contained a passageway hidden by a mechanism activated by a lever in the fireplace. It was a miracle that no one knew about the secret passage. How Wisp's employer had it installed without King Noctis catching on was a mystery.
He counted to twenty in his mind, straining his ears to listen for the sound of claws against stone. When he was absolutely certain no one was around, he pulled the lever down and stepped back as the bricks silently glided back to let him through.
