Sophie

Sophie was born to the founders of the clan, and she and her brother were treated like royalty. Carefully pampered by their mother and spoiled rotten by their father, she and Maple had a happy childhood. The siblings stuck together like glue, ready to take on the world together. But everything changes.

"Maple, you're going to be drafted out for exaltation soon." Midnight said, her gaze steady and unreadable. Flame stood beside her, head hung low and face hidden behind long red fur.

"Mom? Why?" Maple squeaked, voice shaky with shock, and mouth quivering with emotion. Sophie backed away, eyeing her mother with disbelief. "What did I do?"

"Nothing, Maple. You're the strongest, and most fit for the task. It's alright son. Exaltation is a huge honor. You should be happy.." Midnight whispered, a claw outstretched to comfort him. But all Maple did was swat it away.

"No mom! I know, it's just because you prefer my sister. She's the 'pretty' one." He growled, revealing his sharp canine teeth. Maple swung his head around, glaring at his sister with angry eyes. "You, Sophie!" With a howl, he leaped over to his sibling. Dazed by the sudden outburst, Sophie was knocked, helpless, to the ground. She stared wide-eyed up at her snarling brother, before beginning the struggle to escape his grasps. A red blur bowled over Maple, legs sturdily holding him down.

"Maple, stop this nonsense.. You can choose to leave yourself, or your time will come." Midnight spoke with a loud and commanding tone, perfected through months of leading. She glanced thankfully at Flame, who was currently restraining the seething Maple.

"Then I'll leave myself! I'll join the enemy!" He scoffed, a wavering smirk appearing on his lips. "One day, when your time comes, I'll meet you in battle." Squirming out from his father's grasp, the wrathful Tundra swiftly flew off into the sky, leaving behind a bewildered family.

They never saw him again.

Since that day, Sophie has been extra careful with other's feelings. Always cautious around everyone, she never lets her guard down. It's not apparent at first. She still jokes and laughs, but behind that cheerful smile is a soul worried for life's inevitable twists and turns.
