Few have been with the flight longer than Gloriae; only Ashardalon, Wisp and Xorn have that distinction. In fact it was those three that found her on one of their first excursions beyond the borders of their new home. Born to an especially vile clan of of Guardian dragons at the edge of The Wyrmwound, she felt the pull of the Search from a very early age. This caused quite a bit of friction between her and the rest of her clan because traditionally the nature of the Search led young dragons to "pick" the clan as their charge. Gloriae tried for many years to accept her fate, but eventually she had to give in to the Search.

She fought tooth and nail against her former clan mates, in the end only she was left standing. Horrified by what she'd had to do, she turned and fled into the Abiding Boneyard. Driven to the brink of death by her injuries and the unforgiving environment and fighting to retain a scrap of her sanity despite the terrors that lurked just beyond the ever dwindling edge of her senses, she collapsed. Her memories from that point are fragmented and hazy, but when she awoke she was surrounded by a Coatl, a Wildclaw and a most peculiar Fae. She knew instantly after speaking with Ashardalon that this was where she was meant to be, protecting him and his growing family. Since that fateful day, Gloriae has become Ashardalon's right hand and the clans fiercest protector.
