- - - History

Apharis is a hulking Guardian, and was born to a hardy, remote clan of Plague Dragons within the heart of the Abiding Boneyard. Being a member to one of the few clans to inhabit this desolate, arid wasteland, Apharis is distant to most other creatures, and is extremely efficient with using little resources, as she grew up in a bone covered desert. She prefers the company of her shadow to anyother being.

However, when her Search began she understood that she would have to travel the world to find her place in life. The obvious place to start was the dark neighbor next door of the Tangled Wood. There she discovered a young Hyena, tainted by the shadows and thrown from it's own clan. Knowing what it was like being a loner with only yourself for comfort, she found it within to give pity onto this wretch and take him under her wing.
The two traveled for much of Apharis' adolescent years, and once they reached the great Southern Icefield, a flame within the dragon's heart lit. She knew her Charge was here, but this world was so different from what she knew. The never ending cold, the blistering frozen winds and blankets of deep snow made it almost impossible for her to travel without any knowledge of this land. She had to find help, even if she didn't want to.

The Clan of Tatore decided to take her in as one of their own. Being born of ice they knew the lands, showing her this new, strange world and Tatore had known her from his past. Unfortunately it was not a boon to have the large Guardian in their midst. Her heart had changed since Tatore had known her. For the next few years following she would cause a large rift in the clan that would result in her own self imposed exile to her Charge deep within the winter woods.
She is still a part of the Clan, though she keeps her distance.

Apharis still wears many of the trinkets from her old clan of the Plague lands. It is said the bones and feathers she wears can place curses onto those who touch them, if they are not a part of the wearer's heart. Her blazing red eyes shine through the dark eye socket holes of the basilisk mask.

Apharis and Tatore did have a clutch together as this occurred before Tor and Rosea found eachother again and become full mates. At the time, Apharis was the only female Guardian in the general area and both being young adults they had a rather short meeting. It proved to be futile though as neither dragon felt strongly for one another and the clutch was given as a gift to the Icewarden. Apharis was permitted to stay later on when she was taken in, and ending up mating with Aurum while taking advantage of his sadness of losing his original mates.
Because of these instances many dragons are on edge around her manipulative nature, and Aurum steers clear of the crimson Guardian, forever holding the regret of fathering a mistaken clutch with her.
