Mani is the personification of the moon. He is known by many names but is commonly known as "year counter" as he is relied on to count the days of the years and seasons in his passing. Mani and his sister, Sol, are destined never to meet again once they were set up in the sky. They are said to both be chased by wolves around the world. The wolves are trying to devour the moon/sun and their chariots. The wolf that chases him is named Hati Hrodvitnisson, or Managarmr (moon hound). Hati is known as the God of Solar Eclipses. The Solar eclipse happens when Hati catches Mani and when Skoll catches Sol. This occurs at Ragnarok.
