Biography

Minnow is the avaricious captain of the pirate ship Ignis Fatuus (Will-o'-the-Wisp), and its small, yet ferocious, crew.

...or at least, she was.

She earned herself notoriety -- and plenty of enemies -- by being one of the best and greediest theives on the seas, always striking in the night and slipping away effortlessly with her modest caravel. Ship after ship would pursue her after one of her dreaded midnight heists, only to lose her in the fog by dawn. Truly, Minnow was a Shadow dragon blessed by the protection of night.

Eventually some of her repeat victims wised up to her tactics, and banded together to lure her into a trap with loot she couldn't resist. Then, they surrounded her so she couldn't flee. However, their plans fell through when a storm quickly ravaged the area, offering Minnow and her crew enough cover to escape.

Just when Minnow thought she was safe, her Shadowbinder's luck finally ran out. The storm followed the Ignis all night, until the ship finally capsized under a collosal wave. Not a single member of Minnow's crew survived other than herself, and all valuables onboard sunk with the rest of the ship. Minnow managed to float ashore on some of the wreckage as the storm eased up into the next morning. She waited on the sandy beach for several days for any sign of survivors or valuables, but none came.

Minnow was not to be discouraged, and would not give up that easily. She still had plenty of riches stored away at a secret location, and any potential clue to lead any outsiders to her stash had died along with her crew. She couldn't get her crew back, but she could get her money, and she could get revenge.

...but first, she needed a ship, and more importantly, some food.

On some higher ground, she eventually reached a marketplace at the edge of a desert. By bribing some shady customers with some of the remaining gold coins she had managed to save on her own person, she was able to reach the Three Mirrors bar and inn. Rumors told her this was the place for someone of her... ilk... could get some food and rest, so long as she behaved.

And perhaps, with one last bit of luck, she could even score a chance meeting with a former pirate that was said to frequent the Three Mirrors. Maybe finding something seaworthy would be easier than Minnow thought...
