- he's born of plague but admires shadow; people think he's gorey and sinister and evil but he just likes dark arts, he's got it under control

basically, he's a plague dragon who admires shadow; people think he's evil and malicious and likes gross plague things but he actually really hates being associated with that, he wishes he were an acolyte of shadow and practices dark arts
he's got it under control tho
he's very neutral, in the sense that sure he likes shadowy things and dark arts but he's not gonna be a jerk, and he's a bit insulted when people assume that of him
he's blunt and honest and can be a little insensitive but will sit down and work on something if he agrees it's something that needs to be worked on

i should mention that
he probably wouldnt pay anyone much attention until he trusted them, and the harder they tried the less he'd be intereted in them

he wanted to be the shadow rep but couldnt bc he was of plague, but thats ok, he still loves shadow. kinda like the shadow acolyte version of andromeda

what if he still wanted to be shadow rep despite his flight?
that might be a neat lore point

maybe he was born on the border of shadow and plague
and that always stuck with him

gemstar gets too stressed and he proved his dedication to the shadowbinder and was deemed worthy of being the shadow rep, and it's a great honor bc despite his flight he's it
