Following these experiences, she'd always hear somebody whispering in her ear saying "If only you'd been unconscious a bit longer...". At first, she simply dismissed the voice as nothing but a wind blowing past her ear. And she never told anyone this was happening for the fear that she'd be seen as a monster. Gradually however, the voice became louder, as if somebody was yelling right in her ear. And she never tried to talk to it, she just kept silent, curling up and clutching her ears in a futile attempt to stop the voice. To taunt her, the voice would always tell her, "You cannot escape me because I am you..." She shook her head, effectively shaking the irritating voice out of her head. Over time, she would develop terrible headaches that would cause her to curl up, grabbing her head for hours at a time. Never did she want to believe what the voice was telling her. And it most certainly isn't her or even remotely related to her. She. Was. Not. The. Voice. But over time, there was a seedling of doubt that was planted in her mind, and she began to wonder if the voice was actually right. From then on, she blacked out much more often, sometimes for days at a time, and the blood that drenched her claws throughout these incidents became more and more fresh, until one time she woke up, and the vile red liquid was still seeping from her claws. Disgusted, she wiped the blood off of her claws. "Well, I suppose I have no choice anymore, but to show myself?" the voice whispered after that incident, "Look in the mirror, Rosea. Look what we've become" Looking up into the mirror, Rosea was somehow comforted by the image in the mirror... ________________________________________ |
