Toruk used to live a very strenuous lifestyle. In his old clan, he was considered to be a 'breeder'. Breeders were dragons specifically assigned to mass reproducing hatchlings. Toruk never wanted this role - it was forced upon him. His real talent was his ability to heal and cure small animals/pets. Unfortunately, things didn't work out this way. The hatchlings were essentially just 'fodder' for the exalt lines; children made for the sole purpose of slaving away under a deity. Toruk's older clan made it a point to exalt as many dragons as possible in order to gain the Gladekeeper's trust. Instead, the needless exalting of hatchlings only angered the Gladekeeper. The angry deity released their wrath upon the territory, ripping the clan apart from the inside.

Toruk, mourning his exalted and missing children, fled the natural disasters that destroyed his clan. He ran for days and nights, eventually stumbling upon a sandy shore. Exhausted, he begged the nearby water clan to take pity on him. The medics and healers gave him a bed and treated his wounds; one of the wounds was especially bad due to a tree being blown onto him. Toruk suffered from terrible flashback episodes, but is slowly recovering within Clan Rainmar. His new mate, Wilamey, helps him get through. He is truly a bright soul.
