Biography

Mysterious Fortuneteller
"Water holds the visions for those who would look for them."

Not long after this imperial was born, his body began to change. White patches appeared along his scales and black streaks twisted among his mane and feathers. He earned the name Sanshoku for his resemblance to a koi fish, but the changes didn't stop there. Strange runes appeared along his body. None of his clan were able to decipher their meaning, so once old enough, he set out into the world to search for someone who did. One of his steps on this journey landed him in Clan Ksayla, where the clan shaman spent weeks studying his unusual markings. Emberling, though very wise, had no new information for this poor koi-boy. Instead, he was sent to Kessin, the leader of Ksayla's sister-clan.
20815.png A month went by, and none of Kessin's mages, scholars, or alchemists had an answer for Sanshoku, but just as he was about to move on, the Night of the Nocturne descended upon Sornieth. He was visited by a vision of an etheral koi fish that guarded a globe full of visions. The runes along his body seemed to resonate as he peered into its depths, and the koi promised him the answers he sought, should he pursue the art of divination. Sanshoku eagerly accepted the challenge, and offered to stay among Kessin's clan as a soothsayer in an effort to hone this practice.

However, he told no one of the fish and its mystical orb. No others could see it or hear its whispers, and some strange force has compelled him to secrecy.

No others until Oracle arrived.

Years passed. Oracle grew from an unusual child to a vibrant adolescent with Sanshoku as her constant companion. He learned more of divination from her than he ever had from his ethereal fish companion, and in her presence, the whispers silenced.

However, five years after the Crystal Carrier's mysterious appearance, on the first eve of the Night of the Nocturne, the runes upon his scales began to change. Though it had been years, these runes had shifted before, and it was not until morning when he had cause for alarm. A floating mist crystal had appeared at his side overnight. And, even more unsettling than its sudden appearance, unlike the Crystal Carrier, all others of the clan could see the orb except Oracle. He swiftly went to consult ASCII, the clan's foremost expert in reading runes.

Upon seeing the Imperial's new markings, the coatl's expression became grim behind his veil. The runes had formed a simple message: "You are ready"
