B I O G R A P H Y

Flesh and Bone

______Risso is among Fort Moonkeep's oldest living residents, but he'd appreciate if you remembered that it's not polite to bring it up. The sparkle is fading from his crystaline hide and the laugh lines on his narrow face are deep, but he ranks among the fittest of the Fort's warriors in mind, body, and spirit, thanks much. (I'm old, dear, not dead, he fondly reminds the Nightmother when she worries. And when I'm dead, I'll just be old and dead, and that won't stop me either.)

Risso has spent most of his long life with the Defiance. As a Marked child from the coastal Plaguelands he found sanctuary first at Camp Eclipse and later Fort Moonkeep. There he joined the ranks of the Sound, eventually coming to lead the patrol and, as of his retirement, becoming its longest-serving member in history. Now he is Moonkeep's head of security and the Fort's self-proclaimed resident expert in good drink, good women, and good old-fashioned fights to the death, all of which he will tell you about in energetic detail should you ask.

He's got more than enough bravado to share, but it's his wisdom, charisma, and genuine love for his home and everyone in it that makes him one of the pillars of the community. Sunrise will find him in the kitchens snitching food and heckling his friend Friar Prosper, sundown will find him chatting with Mary on the walltops, and in the hours between he dedicates his life to making Moonkeep safe and merry - with the occasional break for a treetop nap in the sun. After all, there will be no sleeping when he's dead.
