The Star-seeing Prophet

Personality:
Jester is a prophet, blessed by the spirits to see things. Things that will come, or might come, or might never come.

The prophecies he's given are incredibly hard for him to decipher, because they are given to him solely through his eyes - only images and places, spinning around, sometimes even overlaid on top of his regular vision.

The worst part of all, is that the only way he can communicate back to spirits, is also through vision - the way Jester attunes himself to the spirits is by elegant dance.

Between the spinning dance and the disorienting visions, every time Jester gets a prophecy, he feels sick afterwards, and this had taken a toll on his health - and yet, everyone still insists Jester tells them their fortune.

If it were not for the protection of his lair, Jester might've overworked himself to death long ago.

One of the things Jester fears the most is one of his friends being harmed trying to protect him - he feels like he's been enough of a burden on them, already.

Jester is quite self deprecating, and feels that, if it weren't for his power, he'd be worthless and no one even bother with him.

He hides this behind a layer of jokes and sarcasm, which is what earned him the nickname 'Jester' in the first place.

Backstory:

Jester is actually royalty, only he doesn't know it. Once upon a time his father, an Arcane duke, performed forbidden and untested experiments on his ailing wife in hopes of saving her life. And although the experiments were a miraculous success, he was attacked by his own citizens who were scared of the strange, new dragon his wife had turned into. His wife managed to escape, but the Duke lost his life.

That's when the duchess fled to wind territory, where she discovered she was pregnant. She laid her eggs there, and was simultaneously delighted and horrified to find that the children looked just like her when they hatched. She was glad not to be alone, but she couldn't help but worry that her children might be treated differently due to their appearance.
