Name: Sauna- Historian/Mapmaker/Lady Pirate

mate: Surf

Sauna was born as a mirror dragon. But for some odd reason the Gladekeeper deemed it more to her liking that Sauna become a snapper. Not understanding the Goddess' mind, her parents merely shrugged and went about their trades. Teaching the other hatchlings their trades. Sauna though, was not interested in tailoring and blacksmithing.

When she was just a hatchling she noticed the ruins that ran beneath the Viridian Labyrinth. Being too young she could never venture far to learn them. Instead she listened to any dragon that passed by and learned their stories. As she grew older she gained access to the Library that was within the great tree called The Behemoth, home to the Gladekeeper.

But needless to say she never learned anything about the ruins that lay near their lair. She soon started to go near them and dig herself a small tunnel that would put her directly in them. There were a couple of times she had gotten stuck. And at the insistence of her clan mates, she stopped going into them on her own. It seemed she'd never learn about those ruins. But day and night they called to her, tormented her.

It wasn't long after that that she met Surf, a male snapper who was just as interested in the ruins as she was. With Surf, her mate, and Turf, her best friend, she started to make discoveries of the ruins. For starters, they were not Dragon made. It took several potions to make both her and Surf small enough to investigate the inner chamber to the ruins. There they found several of these across the walls.

Some small some big. It didn't matter. As she studied more of the ruins she was able to pre-date the site to be back in the second age, before the Arcanist was ever there. Not much info is available about the deities and their makings. So she and surf are trying to decipher the markings on the wall. Its becoming hard and tedious because there are no known records about humans.

When she's not in the ruins, she makes and sells maps to other dragons so that her expedition into the ruins does not eat up the supplies of her clan. In her surprise, her maps were quite sought after and she now has a nice little side business to the ruins.

****After losing her mate Surf to the disease that burns a dragon to a crisp, she roamed around Sornieth for a long while. Ruins no longer interested her and nothing seemed to bring her out of her melancholy. After moving to wind, she would travel up to the higher cliffs and look out into the ocean. It seemed that something called but she wasn't sure what.

After telling her clan she was leaving, three other dragons joined her and she found what had been calling. There was a group of marauding dragons with loads of booty for the taking.
It was only after taking that booty from them that Sauna discovered that the treasure was from the ocean and had been brought up from the bottom.

Bringing it home she continued to store her artifacts in a place and took care to make sure each and every piece was documented. After that, She became a captain of a bigger boat and took care to make sure her lair mates kept their faces hidden while they ransacked other dragons finds.
