Biography

You are the sound that I hear
You are the sound that I hear
We are not standing
We are falling

She was foretold by the high mages of the coven, a clan of mages and Psychics. The Prophecy told of a female, born of two of the first Imperials. She would be strong and smart, one to keep the clan safe. But that time would be short lived, as a hunter would come and take her his prisoner and he would use her to destroy families. Many believed that the hunter was a human, never would they expect it to be another dragon.

They found the egg on the edge of the Starfall Isles. Plague eggs tended to end up on the border from time to time anyway. Not many thought anything of it. They nestled the egg in another clutch, and waited. When the day came, and the egg hatched out a purple bellied female Imp many in the clan believed she had to be the for told child. She was Purpura, the purple child of prophecy.

From birth she was guarded, kept safe and contained with the high mages of the clan. From her birth, she was strong with her magic. Her mental powers were something the mages had never seen born into the clan. She had natural talent, her ability to communicate with the high mages in her mind was astounding. The Prophecy hung in their minds, as they began to realize her abilities. How they had to do all they could, to keep the strong child out of the hands of the hunter that was also predicted.

She was rarely outside, but in her mind she wandered. Kept in the temples of the high mages, Purpura let her mind wander outside of her home. They forbid her to leave unless all the high mages were present, and that was a rare event. She had been outside three times in her life, two of those only because it was her hatch day. Thankfully, her powers allowed her to wander outside. In the minds of other dragons and animals she could see the world around her. She could watch warriors spar, see other clans go to war. She was even able to watch as others fought against humans in one of the Great Destruction's. She was so curious, and she longed for the world outside. Never understanding why she could never see it with her own eyes.

As she aged, her curiosity grew. She longed for the outside world, and soon began to resent her family for her depression. She would beg and beg, but the answer was the same. She would never be able to wander the outside world. She just did not understand why. They never told her, that she was destined to be taken away by some kind of hunter. So in her mind she explored. Thankful that she could at least have that freedom.

They did not know of the pact made between a human of Loonrian, and Cazador the blood touched Imp. They did not know, he was hunting for dragons with Psychic abilities.. or that Cazador had been lurking, hunting, and learning of the powerful dragon that Purpura was and how he would get her. It was not hard to kill for the information he needed. He knew she was in the temple, it was just a matter of her wanting out.

He began to trap and move things around, knowing very well making the outside of the temple more inviting would help seal the deal. He would catch and release some of the kinder and more elegant beasts of Sornieth. Planting different flowers, and placing unique stones. He made it so when she looked around from her mind she would see things close by that had to be seen for her own eyes, for her to feel or touch. He knew he had to take his time. Eventually she would come out.

As Purpura wandered in the minds of her clan mates and others. She could see the things Cazador dropped off. She had no real idea of his meddling in the world around the temple. All she could see were the things around her that she longed to touch. She longed to smell the flowers and feel the soft fur of some of the animals.

She could take no longer.

The High Mages had gone outside, and she knew it was her only chance. She moved out of the temple and into the sun light alone for the first time in her life. For the last time again. She could smell the flowers, feel the grass and dirt under her claws. It was as she imagined. It was perfect. Quickly as the moment was joyous it turned sour. Cazador pounced down on his target and knocked her hard on the head. She was out cold before her head hit the grass. Panic erupted in the clan, mages trying to gather to get her away from Cazador. But the blood touched Imp was powerful and they stood no chance. As soon as he had swooped in, he was gone. Taking his prize with him. The entire clan was distraught, all had happened as told by the High Mages. Families would be destroyed, if only they knew how.

When she woke, Purpura was locked inside a large metal cage. She had food and water, a minimal bed. The cage was just large enough for her to spread her wings and walk a small circle. She was panicked to say the least as Cazador looked at her. He ridiculed her, explained how he had baited the outside of her temple. How she should have listened to her family. Explaining how now she would help him, how she would tell the humans when to come back. How she would bare him children, who would then be given to the humans. As he boasted and howled his victory she cowered away from him, hiding her head in her wings as she tried to wake up from the horrible nightmare.
