Biography

Her first moments of life were her desire to get out. Trapped and confined inside the surface of something. She tore and scratched and managed to get a small hole in the oppressive containment. It elated her - the rush of air that came flooding in and she tore and scratched with vigour before she was lurched forward by breaking half of her egg. She felt out of her egg and onto something soft. It was a dull colour but it felt soft and she turned. An egg, that was what she had just been in. She immediately looked around for parents but she was alone. That was when her little self started crying.

She was alone and new to the world and did know any better. The shadows around her slowly starting creeping towards her, teeming with danger. They got closer, larger and darker as the little pearlcatcher continued to cry. Thankfully though, a dragon was nearby and tore through the shadows and they fled. The dragon walked through where the shadows once stood and saw the little baby and came towards them. She placed a gentle paw on the little dragon, gently wiping down the mucus on their wings, which caught its attention.

"It's okay little one." The dragon said. Chel looked up at them in awe. She stretched out her little wings and the dragon gently cleaned her. She imprinted on them immediately and once the dragon had given her a wipe down she immediately buried herself into it's fur.

"Mama!" Chel cried and curled into her. The tundra picked her up and placed her on her back.

"Hold on, little one." The tundra said and began walking slowly. Chel held on tightly and hummed happily since her mama was with her now. She felt overly happy and curled up on their back.

Chel had a relatively peaceful childhood - but Dia and Kulax made her aware they weren't her real parents. Chel knew that once she had grown a little - Dia was a tundra and Kulax a fae, but her hatchling mind had just latched onto the idea they were her parents. They were in a way, they had cared for her unlike her real parents who had left her to die out in the Woods. They allowed her to call them her parents again when she reassured them of that.

On the eve of her adulthood she decided to take on a journey to find one of her parents. She knew it was unlikely that they were both still alive but she still desperately want to learn of her lineage. On her travels she learned to fight and defend herself - and even pass on her fighting knowledge to other dragons. It had been a good experience for her, but what she set out to do had not been accomplished. She couldn't find a single trace of her lineage anywhere or even know where she could begin to find her parents if they served the gods.

She had eventually began her journey home, to where her real parents were. She got back and they were glad to see her, just like she was to see them. They had a family reunion with some of her half siblings and Chel felt herself settle down. She didn't need to know her family when her true family were here. In her mind and body she felt the slow acceptance of never knowing who her parents were. Something that had nagged in her mind for years was finally at rest.

After years of being away she came to realised the shambles the clan was in. They had only her mother for protection and they were struggling to protect all the dragons in the clan. She had learned to fight on her travels so she took it to herself to be a guard with Kashaf. While Kashaf wasn't a good fighter he had keen vision and could often spot things she didn't see. They continued to be on guard and protect the clan vigilantly.

It took years for her to learn it, but her mother had been royalty and she had been a product of a secret affair. To keep her secret her mother abandoned her in the woods - probably to make sure she would never been seen again. Chel had accepted that and had moved on - her real parental figures were Dia and Kulax who had raised her like their own brood. She was happy here, to fight and protect the clan like Dia and Kulax had protected her. In a sense it felt like she was repaying them for the protection they had given her, but in another sense she was loyal to the progenitors to a fault and would do anything they asked of her in a heartbeat. She was happy and that's all she and her parents cared about.
