The Rotrock Rim of the Plaguebringer's territory is no place for a shy little tundra hatchling. Levana learned that quicker than she learned how to stand. Her clanmates expected her to be savage straight out of the egg, and somehow her siblings seemed to be meeting those expectations. But Levana was the runt of the litter, and all she was able to achieve were a few terrified squeaks and several injuries from the harsh environment surrounding her.

She was put on the Auction House as "fodder"- hatchlings, and sometimes even adults, put up for such low prices that they are only bought to get riches from exalting.

Scarlet was strolling through the Auction House at the same time when she locked eyes with the injured tundra. Scarlet hesitated, knowing that the clan didn't have much room left in the lair for another clan member, but... she had such beautiful genes and colors. And when a Plague hatchling is being sold for fodder with such good genetics, that could only mean that she was simply too weak. The familiar injuries that Scarlet had gotten as a hatchling proved her theory. Levana shared same scared, timid look in her red eyes that the pearlcatcher used to have. She understood.
